Our Story
Blue Star Collective has grown from the workshop of Robert F. Battles who lived and created on this property for over 50 years. Robert and his wife, Jean came to South Haven in the late 19060’s following a group of artists from Chicago who wanted to create a community of artists and craftspeople. Blue Star Collective continues the spirit of collective creative communities by offering a place for artists to sell, share and celebrate their works of art.

Creating the space
In the Spring/Summer of 2024 Blue Star Collective’s space was built in the pole barn/workshop where Robert made his sculptures in the 1990’s and 2000’s. Have a look at how this all happened (in less than 5 minutes!)

Meet Megan
Megan Bennett, daughter of Robert F. Battles, will be managing Blue Star Collective. After a career in education, Megan is creating a second half of life by opening this space. For more about Megan read her bio!
